Acadia Centennial Trek

Date: Saturday Feb 27, 2016 - Saturday Dec 31, 2016

Run, hike, or step-count the first-ever 100-mile virtual Acadia Centennial Trek to celebrate the park’s 100th anniversary! Registration begins now—you can sign up at any time. The race goes live the day after at least 50 people have registered, and runs through Dec. 31, 2016. People from around the world can participate. How global can we make this Acadia Centennial Trek?

The route starts on Cadillac Mountain and takes you over the park’s 26 peaks on Mount Desert Island, along sections of the Park Loop Road and carriage roads, onto parts of the MDI YMCA’s Acadia Half Marathon and Fall Half Marathon, and ends at the finish line of the MDI Marathon.

Plus, purchase a finisher’s medal featuring the Acadia Centennial logo, to help raise funds for the park!

Centennial Trekkers are invited to join the new Acadia National Park Hiking Group on Facebook. Open to everyone, this Facebook group lets veteran and first-time hikers share trail conditions, trip reports, photos, videos and other info. It is also a central place for participants in the 100-mile virtual Acadia Centennial Trek to record their accomplishments, in celebration of Acadia’s 100th anniversary.
