Mount Desert Summer Chorale: Just like a glorious Maine sunset—MDSC appears briefly and spectacularly in July and August, scattering sparkles of musical joy, and then disappears.
Anyone can join our group—amateurs, professional singers, summer visitors, and year-round residents—all are welcome to sing with us.
To present major choral works, MDSC combines our chorus with musicians from the Bangor Symphony and from talented local professionals. Our soloists include young international singers, as well as seasoned professionals.
With Acadia National Park in our backyard, MDSC contributes to the extraordinary cultural diversity enjoyed by millions.
Our Music Director and Conductor is David Schildkret, Director of Choral Activities at Arizona State University.
