The Maine Crafts Guild was established in 1975 by a dedicated community of artisans and we continue to serve the professional craftspeople of Maine today. The Guild offers cooperative marketing opportunities to all members, as well as professional fine craft shows.
Our members are selected through a jury-of-peers process. Potters, furniture makers, glass blowers, fiber artists, fine jewelers and other artisans all practice the highest standards of craftsmanship. This dynamic membership is comprised of journeymen, nationally recognized masters and founding members – all working together as volunteers to manage the organization.
The Maine Crafts Guild is coordinating an event titled “Conservation Matters.”
Guild members will be challenged to design and produce work, featuring natural/conservation themes, in celebration of 100 years of Acadia stewardship. Artwork may range from production to one-of-a-kind pieces and will be showcased on our website with links to member’s webpages where purchases can be made.
The event will culminate July 29–31, 2016 at the 41st Annual Mount Desert Island Directions Fine Craft Show at the Atlantic Oceanside Event Center – Bar Harbor, where participating members will highlight their Acadia Centennial themed artworks for purchase. A percentage of sales will be donated to Friends of Acadia. A special celebratory gathering is planned for the evening of July 29, 2016 on the opening night of the show.
