Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, in the coastal village of Blue Hill, Maine, is the “cradle of chamber music teaching in America”. The festival can trace its origins to 1902 when violinist Franz Kneisel, founder of the first professional string quartet in America, began bringing students to his vacation home in Blue Hill for summer study. It is a chamber music retreat for gifted young artists, a ten-week concert series and chamber music advocate through many outreach programs
Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in Blue Hill celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Acadia National Park with a sunrise concert.
