Photo gallery showing photographs of Mt. Desert Island, and Down East Maine. Prints of all different sizes, and we make prints from cell phones, and digital cameras
The photography of Steven Bart focuses on the stark beauty of the Maine coast and the rich colors of the fall foliage in New York and in Acadia National Park. Primarily a landscape photographer, his digital color prints and CD slide shows of the ponds, gardens, mountains, seascapes, lobster boats, and yachts of Mt. Desert Island and the grandeur of Katahdin Lake are prized by connoisseurs of photographic art.
Steven lives in Bar Harbor, Maine, during the summer and spends his winters in New York City. His photographs capture the natural beauty with its complex simplicity found in northeastern landscapes. His passion
for the natural world has taken him to many inspirational locations, and with his “listening eye” he has witnessed wonderful moments of serenity and awe, moments he strives to capture in photographs that go beyond the technical aspects of photography and into the world of art.
Although Steven has lived most of his life in Manhattan, it was extensive travels around the country during the mid 1970s that fired his interest in both black and white and color photography as a way to express his deep, abiding love for the natural world. Since then, he has worked in the graphic arts for 30 years. He started with a 35 mm camera with Kodachrome 25 asa film, but now has embraced the newer technology of digital photography. He produces all his giclée prints using archival inks.
Steven’s work may be viewed at many of the juried art shows in the metropolitan New York area and at the Katahdin Gallery in Bar Harbor from June through September. “There is a beauty and a wonder in the fog
and mist of this rocky coast,” he says, a beauty and wonder he attempts to share with others through the medium of photographic art. As a freelance photographer, Steven is also available for professional assignment.
