Islesford Artists was opened in 1986 to enable the community and its visitors to become more familiar with the art of friends and neighbors on Little Cranberry Island. Today, we exhibit the work of these artists, as well as artists from other Maine islands.
The artists represent a wide range of work from realistic to abstract in style. Each has special feelings for their island homes off the Maine coast. This bond is evident in their art.
Danny and Katy Fernald, along with their family, love to share their enthusiasm for the work of the artists featured in their gallery.
Islesford Artists is located on Little Cranberry Island. Leave from Northeast Harbor aboard the Mail Boat or from Southwest Harbor aboard the Cranberry Cove Ferry to the fishing village of Islesford.
On Little Cranberry Island, we have a unique view of Acadia National Park. This vantage point has been painted by many artists over the hundred-year history of Acadia. To celebrate the park’s anniversary, Islesford Artists Gallery is planning an exhibit throughout the 2016 season of artwork from the early 1900s with images honoring the amazing landscapes that our national park provides. We will also show the work of over twenty-five local contemporary artists and their unique representation of their individual bond to Maine and Acadia National Park.
