Eric Fitzpatrick has been painting on the coast of Maine since 1978, setting up his French easel on location, and passionately responding to the incredible beauty before him. In the tradition of his art heroes, Bellows, Hopper, Henri, and Homer, Eric has sought to capture the unique relationship between land and sea that can only be found on the Coast of Maine. The “beauty of the battle” between surf and land has enthralled him for all of those years and the quest of each trip Downeast is to better portray that drama .
He is most grateful to his friends Sher and Ivan for the invitation and looks forward to meeting many new friends who share his love for the Maine Coast (and Acadia in particular!). A portion of the profits from his painting I’ve Seen the Light (depicting the special light as seen from Cadillac Mountain, looking northeast to the Schoodic Peninsula) will go to the Acadia Centennial.
