Dobbs Productions began in 1980 with production of Maine's first cable tourist information channel. This program called Island Update eventually became The Acadia Channel. Dobbs Productions became a well known Maine production company working with clients all over Maine and the United States. Dobbs Productions is known mostly for producing many popular documentary films about Maine and especially Acadia.
Dobbs Productions in association with The Jefferson Davis Grant Foundation is producing a documentary film about George Dorr called "Becoming Acadia" to celebrate Acadia National Park's Centennial. Dobbs Productions is also soliciting financial support to help with this project.
