Date: Monday Jun 06, 2016
Time: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Roxane Scherer and Sherry Rasmussen will teach “wet folded origami,” a technique developed by Japanese master Akira Yoshizawa, at a workshop June 6 from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the Studio Upstairs of Art of West.
First you will learn how to fold a square so that with a single cut you will create a pentagon. The pentagon will be folded into a traditional five-point star. Next, you will use a heavier paper to “wet fold” stars that are more abstract than with traditional folding. The stars can be used for everything from earrings to ornaments to package embellishment. Students are invited to stay an extra half hour or more to focus on wet folding. Due to space constraints, the number is limited to 10 people. Call Sherry at 207-288-9428 to make your reservation. The event is free.Location: ART on West ...at the Studio Upstairs
