Orchestral Concert – featuring world premiere of “Acadia Fanfare” by William White

The Festival Orchestra at the Pierre Monteux School will give its Acadia Centennial concert, which will include the world premiere of “Acadia Fanfare,”  a musical tribute to Acadia National Park composed for the 2016 Acadia Centennial celebration. “Acadia Fanfare” was composed and will be conducted by Monteux School alumnus William C. White.

Mr. White served as Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony and Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra for four years before joining the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Portland, Oregon where he now serves as its Interim Music Director. Mr. White’s compositions include orchestral works for children, scores for major-release films, and theme music for NPR radio’s “Cincinnati Edition.” Mr. White has said: “I am excited to be able to share the magic of music with current and future generations of musicians and park visitors.”

Tickets available only at the door, which opens at 4:15 pm. Adults: $22; Students: $5
