Ever wondered which islands within Frenchman Bay are a part of Acadia National Park? Join us aboard the Schoodic Ferry on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 31 – October 6, as we explore the history of how and when islands within Frenchman Bay came to join this national treasure, and what the preservation of those habitats has meant for the Frenchman Bay ecosystem.
The Schoodic Ferry connects passengers, their bicycles, and leashed pets to the Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula sections of Acadia National Park in an experience that may become the highlight of your vacation. Relax as you cruise between Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor, unconcerned about traffic or parking during your 45-minute ferry ride. Encounter a lobsterman hauling traps, greet a harbor porpoise surfing the waves, assist a working scientist in discovering more about the health of Frenchman Bay, or simply enjoy another new adventure in Acadia.
