Make a “German Star” by weaving and folding paper

Date: Friday Sep 23, 2016
Time: 9 am - 10:30 am

Description:

German StarDescriptions of how to fold a three dimensional Froebel star date back to at least the 19th century in Germany. The star, made of four strips of paper, is much like origami in that it uses no glue. However, the star also incorporates weaving and can be made in sizes suitable for everything from earrings to ornaments.

Bar Harbor paper artist Sherry Rasmussen will teach the German Star during Acadia Night Sky Festival. The workshop will be held 9 – 10:30 am Friday, September 23 at Art on West Gallery. There is a suggested donation of $10 to support Acadia Night Sky Festival, a part of the Acadia Centennial Celebration.
