Date: Tuesday Apr 19, 2016
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
This lecture is the first in a three-part series that Downeast Audubon, in partnership with Blue Hill Heritage Trust, are sponsoring to focus on the Acadia National Park Centennial. For the first lecture, Ruth and Duane Braun, established geologists of the region, will discuss the global tectonics history of the area, how MDI was put together, and how glaciations sculpted the present landscape around us. Ruth and Duane have co-authored a new book, The Geologic Guide to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park, to be published in June 2016.
There will be a reception at 6:30 and the lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m.
