Centennial Shore, Seabird, and Whale Watch Cruise: A Benefit for Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park

Date: Sunday Jul 17, 2016
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Join Maine Coast Heritage Trust and Schoodic Institute with Bar Harbor Whale Watch for an evening cocktail cruise in honor of the Acadia Centennial, highlighting coastal conservation, research, and education in and around Acadia National Park.

Thanks to the generosity of the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co., all proceeds from this trip will benefit the nonprofit work of Maine Coast Heritage and Schoodic Institute at Acadai National Park.

We will depart from downtown Bar Harbor aboard a comfortable Bar Harbor Whale Watch vessel and head across Frenchman Bay to Schoodic Point. MCHT and Schoodic Institute staff will be onboard to highlight the many conservation and ecological successes, as well as continuing challenges and research taking place in Frenchman Bay and on the surrounding coastline. Our onboard naturalists will be available answer questions and point out the diverse wildlife we may encounter: seals, porpoises, peregrine falcons, eagles, ospreys, many varieties of seabirds, and more.

Then as we turn offshore and head out of Frenchman Bay, we’ll look for whales under the experienced guidance of the Bar Harbor Whale Watch staff. The evening winds down as we cruise back to port with a breathtaking sunset over Frenchman Bay.

There will be a cash bar and light refreshments available onboard. Our spacious vessel offers indoor cabins, restrooms, and plenty of outdoor viewing space.

Registration opens in late May, 2016
