Acadia Through a Furniture Maker’s Eyes

Featuring Furniture Makers David Lamb and Judith Kensley McKie

“Four Seasons of Acadia”, specifically made for the celebration by one of the Gallery’s furniture makers, David Lamb. The design of this cabinet captures the fours seasons of Acadia using different wood variations and tones along with a beautifully carved panel on the interior of the cabinet. David Lamb is a founding member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, a group of furniture makers dedicated to producing handmade furniture of unsurpassed quality.

Eagle-Table-Mahogany“Eagle” side table in mahogany created by Pritam & Eames’ furniture maker, Judith Kensley McKie. McKie is known for her use of animal, bird, and fish imagery in her furniture and sculptures; her pieces are exhibited throughout the Country in many public and private collections. McKie lives in Cambridge, MA.

The Gallery at Somes Sound continues the long standing tradition of educating, stimulating and encouraging the American people, through fine art and visual culture. A large portion of the proceeds from the purchase of these pieces will be donated to Friends of Acadia.
