Statement from artist Barbara Strubell: The ledge at Seawall is my granddaughter’s favorite place to go to when she visits me. This image is iconic. The spirit of this figure represents our defiance and uncertainty about our path in the future, and the strength and determination to face it.
I am proud to offer this as my Centennial project. Acadia National Park is a special place; the beauty of Acadia has healed me in many ways over the years. It is my privilege to reside here and I am inspired by the beauty that surrounds us all on this island.
5% of proceeds from sales will be donated to Friends of Acadia to benefit Acadia National Park.
