To commemorate Acadia’s 100th anniversary, Ellen Kappes is offering for sale one of her larger 16” X 20” (when matted) limited-edition silk screens, composed while sitting on the rocks at Otter Cliffs, just below the area where Ocean Drive divides in two. She was moved by the magnificent view of the mountains across the water. To her it represents basic elements of Acadia National Park: the clear air, the dynamic mountains as they come down to the shore and the ocean, the stately trees, and underlying it all, the sheltering rocks.
The price for a matted serigraph is $55; framed, $90. It is available from the artist at her studio in Northeast Harbor.
Ellen will donate 40% of the proceeds from sales of this serigraph to Friends of Acadia and 30% to Island Housing Trust.
